Boat O'Craigo is a small, family-owned winery roughly 3.5 km from Sanctuary House — close enough that it is the easiest cellar door to reach from your room, and a genuinely good one.
Scottish roots in the Yarra Valley
The name comes from the family's Scottish heritage, and that thread runs through everything here, from the labels to the welcome. This is a small-batch producer rather than a large commercial operation, so the person pouring your tasting usually knows the vineyard the fruit came from.
The wines
Expect classic cool-climate Yarra Valley styles — typically elegant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir alongside Shiraz with pepper and spice. Because production is small, there are often bottles at the cellar door you will not find on a shelf anywhere else.

At about a five-minute drive, Boat O'Craigo makes an ideal first or last stop on a Yarra Valley wine day, or simply an easy afternoon out when you would rather not drive far.
